Take attendance at an extracurricular program's event

Take student attendance at an extracurricular program's event, such as a marching band competition. You set the ability to take attendance when you create the event.

Notes:

  • To take attendance, the staff member must be a program administrator. They do not have to be the program manager.
  • To appear on the attendance list, the student must have the status indicated in your school's extracurricular preferences (such as registered or active).

To take attendance for an extracurricular program event:

  1. Do one of the following:
    • Log on to the School view. Select Extracurriculars > Extracurricular Programs.
    • Log on to the Staff view. Select My Info > Extracurricular Activities.
  2. Select the program, and then click Events on the side-tab.
  3. Select the event, and then under Events on the side-tab, click Attendance. The attendance page appears.
  1. In the Attended? column, select the checkboxes for the students who are present.
  2. To enter a comment about a student, click the Comments icon Enter Text icon. . Enter your text, and then click OK.
  3. Click Save.

The page updates with the attendance information.

Notes: In the School view, you can view a student's attendance for an event (Student > select the student > Membership > Extracurricular Programs > select the program > Events). In the Attendance column: 
  • P indicates the student was present.
  • N/A indicates attendance was not set up to be taken at the event.
  • Pending means attendance was not taken yet.
